In support of our Family Strengthening initiative my Sorority (Alpha Kappa Alpha) hosts a “Family Affair Tea Party.” The proceeds from the event provided scholarships for young ladies attending a college or university.

At this event, tables are decorated in a variety of themes. Since I don’t have enough dishes to complete the table setting, I normally don’t participate. However, this year I was asked to. Again, I didn’t have everything needed so I solicited the help of a partner, my sorority sister. Since we are both breast cancer survivors, I’m sure you can guess what our table theme was.

We even won over the judges and claimed the 2nd place prize.
