Upcycled Steno Book

Hello, My Every Day People! I hope you are having an amazing week. So much time has passed since my last blog post. In fact, many reading this probably didn’t even know I had a blog. Yes, I do.  It’s all a journey of inspiration and creativity sprinkled with some occasional randomness. For example, I found this old Steno Book from when I worked at the middle school. Shout out to Workman Middle School – Go Jaguars!

I remember how I used it to track daily tasks and all the many moving parts that surround working in a middle school. I even labeled the front “brain” cause there were several days when I needed this book to think for me.

This bell and lunch schedule were lifesavers when scheduling groups and enrolling students.

Quickly, I considered this would be a great way to keep track of my current day-to-day (i.e., therapy, UWF, craft projects, etc.). However, it needed a makeover.

Enter creative idea: Reverse it so the back is now the front. Use the front of last year’s birthday card and some Post-it notes as a new cover.

One of my “50th” birthday cards

First step: Cut strips of Post-it notes and glue around the edge.

Next step: Cut off the front of the card and glue it on top of Post-it strips.

Viola! New upcycled Steno Book cover.

What do you think? This would be a great craft project for a group or a fun activity at home with kids. Feel free to use any kind of notebook. As always, thanks for your time, and enjoy the journey.

Oh, please share. I’d love to see what you make.
